Stanwick St John Parish Registers

Church Records

If you are researching your family history and wish to consult the actual old parish registers, you should find them lodged with the North Yorkshire County Archive Service at Northallerton.

We have the registers of baptisms, marriages and burials at Stanwick St John along with a record of baptisms in Aldbrough Methodist Chapel.

They are recorded alphabetically by surname to make it easier to find names you are looking for.
They are available to look at in the church at Stanwick along with a large churchyard plan to assist identification of graves.

If you are unable to get to Stanwick and would like us to send the appropriate Excel spreadsheet, please contact us . Recent baptisms, weddings and burials ar not recorded as most families will have that information for themselves.

Please note that Stanwick St John church is now in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust but the churchyard is still owned and maintained by the church parish, now based in Aldbrough St John. The cost of maintaining the churchyard is a major expense on parish resources. If you wish to show your appreciation for any information provided by making a donation to churchyard upkeep, please make cheques payable to 'Aldbrough St John Church Committee' and send them to PCC Treasurer, Finkle Croft, Aldbrough St John, Richmond, DL117TD.  Thank you.
