Revd Lindsay Southern, Vicar of Catterick is organising and opening up to everyone from across the Deanery, a series of online Bible study courses.These will be starting in January and may end up coinciding with another lockdown! If you've not met Lindsay she is very warm, welcoming, relaxed and very skilled at leading study groups.
The courses she will be running via zoom are:

*THE BIBLE COURSE*
Holy Trinity, Tunstall and St Anne's, Catterick will be running the The Bible Course online via Zoom on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm, starting 13th January 2021 Whether you're well versed in Scripture or new to the Bible, The Bible Course offers a superb overview of the world's best-selling book. The course will increase your confidence, equip you to read the Bible better and help you to see its relevance to daily life. Over eight interactive sessions, it combines video teaching, group discussion, personal reflection and daily readings.
A typical session includes:
- Welcome from the Course host
- 15-minute teaching video
- 25-minute discussion time
- 15-minute teaching video
- 10-minute personal reflection to finish
- Daily readings between sessions

*PILGRIM: The Bible*
The seventh Pilgrim Course in the series!
This one explores the Bible:
- what it is,
- how it was given to us and
- how we should read it.
Its six sessions combine:
- simple prayer,
- Bible reflection in the lectio divina style,
- an article by a modern writer, and
- time for questions and reflection.

Session One: What is the Bible?

- Looks at a 'way in' to reading the Bible, thinking particularly about how to recognize what kind of writing the Bible is.
Session Two: The Bible as Breath
- With a Reflection by David Moxon
- Reflects on what it means to say that the Bible is the breath of God.
Session Three: The Bible as a stream of living water
- With a Reflection by Rosemary Lain-Priestley
- Explores how the Bible nourishes us.
Session Four: The Bible as a lamp
- With a Reflection by Vivienne Faull
- Looks at the Bible as something that enlightens and informs us as Christians.
Session Five: The Bible as a two-edged sword
- With a Reflection by Paula Gooder
- Explores what it means to say that the Bible is living and active.
Session Six: Daily bread
- With a Reflection by Steven Croft
- Discusses more about making Bible-reading a part of our regular life and prayer.
