Melsonby Garden Fete 2016

The annual Garden Fete in aid of Melsonby church was held on 2 July in the lovely grounds of Beech Tree Cottage and Spencer House thanks to the generosity of Mr & Mrs Badcock and Mr & Mrs Rees.

Although it wasn't hot and sunny, it remained dry and reasonably mild for the afternoon. There were the usual WI teas as well as stalls with plants, bric-a-brac, competitions, jewellery, tombola and a raffle. There were also ice-creams served from the fridge on the Black's campervan. The Leyburn Band also provided entertainment during the afternoon.

Th Garden Fete is a major fund raising activity for Melsonby parish and it is even more important now that many of their other fundraising activities are aimed at the 'Flush Fund' to provide toilet and kitchen facilities in the church and make the building more useful to the whole community.
